Scarnocchio Amarone er et prestige projekt, hvor Monte del Fra ønsker at byde alle stjerneproducenterne op til kamp. Der er ikke sparet noget sted i bestræbelserne på at opnå det ypperste. Ønologen Paolo Grigolli, der er et af de store navne i Veneto, er blevet sat på opgaven, og har under hele processen fået næsten frie hænder til at kreere et mesterværk. Han har naturligvis valgt druer fra de ældste stokke på firmaets marker (ca. 60 år) og høstet med ekstremt lavt udbytte. Sorteringen af de tørrede druer har været nærmest hysterisk. Kun det perfekte var godt nok. Smager man det? Ja, det gør man! Det er sjældent at møde en Amarone med en sådan renhed og balance, som der er i denne vin.
